Lip service is no longer acceptable! It’s time for representation that will take our values and concerns to Indianapolis and help provide solutions for the real problems that we face.
With unemployment rates soaring and the economy suffering, it is clear that we must provide more opportunities for work, and a better environment for jobs to thrive. As I talk to people throughout southeastern Indiana, the concern is obvious and the message is clear: getting Hoosiers back to work must be one of our top priorities! Far too many Hoosiers are out of work. Far too many who are employed are forced to drive long distances to get to a good paying job. This isn’t a new issue for our area. It is an issue that has been building over time and we have reached the point that it must be addressed. The righting of our economic ship will require us to take a different approach. In order to get a different result, we must make some changes. If we are serious about making southeastern Indiana a place where our families can live without spending countless hours on the road and countless dollars in our gas tanks to get to and from work, then we must make sure that those we trust to represent us share those same values. I am firmly committed to getting Hoosiers back to work. Giving each and every individual the opportunity to find a good paying job close to home is at the top of my list when it comes to representing southeastern Indiana.
For over 30 years, as this problem grew, we have been sending the same man to Indianapolis to represent our interests. Without access to Indianapolis media, it is virtually impossible to know what goes on there. When we cast our votes this fall for our collective representation in Indianapolis, we need to know how the people we vote for will be handling our top priorities.
