Hard Work Carries Over
And they are correct. But hopefully part of the message being sent is that this campaign isn’t about finding the path of least resistance. We would rather work hard to do things the right way than just find the easiest way, and as this article discusses, we know that hard work carries over!
Hard Work Carries Over
This past weekend as friends and families gathered together to celebrate freedom and the birth of this great nation we were able to spend some quality time with many of the folks throughout the district. From Brookville to Vevay to Aurora to Rising Sun to Milan to Greendale to Patriot to Lawrenceburg…. we were literally everywhere. Canoe races, world record breaking fried chicken, fireworks, parades, town picnics, family gatherings and 5Ks were just a few of the things that the volunteers and I were able to be a part of. As we traveled the Great 68 in the “Jud Bus,” from town to town, festival to parade and canoe race to 5K; I was amazed and encouraged by all the support and willpower of our campaign. That’s when it really occurred to me that hard work carries over.
In 2008 I was nominated to run for the Indiana House of Representatives in District 68. It was an uphill battle against a popular 30 year incumbent. With nearly no name recognition and little support from the political establishment we put on our orange shirts and went to work. We were driven by knowing that doing the same things and expecting different results was no longer acceptable. Our district, our State and our Nation needed help to overcome the political inertia that is still weighing us down. Our campaign believed that we could bring something more to the people of Southeastern Indiana; and with the inspiration of encouraging others to give themselves a fresh perspective we went to work every day and established our name from the ground up. We didn’t win in 2008, but we came closer than anyone expected, except for our team. Although the results from election night were disappointing, we were not discouraged; because hard work carries over.
At events, festivals, parades and on the streets this summer you are bound to see an orange shirt, working hard to make a difference. Our campaign strives to constantly exhibit the strong, determined work ethic, which is so finely engrained within the people of Southeastern, Indiana. The people here work hard, and they deserve representation that will work hard with them, as well as for them. With the confidence, charisma, and effort, that you see in our campaign, you can be sure that hard work will carry over to the Indiana House of Representatives.
I would be honored to Earn your vote.
