Traveling the Great 68!!

       It's time to get out and see that District 68 has to offer! On Saturday, May 1^st the campaign will be unavailing our new bus and heading all over the district to sample the fine cuisine at local restaurants. We will be meeting at the co-op at the south end of town in Brookville and the bus and will be leaving at 8:00 a.m.. We will be heading to the Old Brick Tavern in Penntown, The Store Café in Sunman, The Reservation in Milan, Janet’s Diner in Dillsboro, The Countryside Café in East Enterprise,  Roxanno’s. AJ’s, and Granny’s in Vevay, Redegio’s in Patriot, Jack’s in Rising Sun, The Country Kitchen in Aurora, The Lawrenceburger in Lawrenceburg, The Horseshoe Inn in Dover. Klumps in New Alsace, and The St. Leon Tavern in St. Leon before heading back to Brookville around 4:30 p.m. Once we get back in Brookville we will be meeting up with another crew at 5:00 p.m. at the co-op to run the Franklin County portion the Chicken Trail. We will be making stops at The Hearthstone, Hav-a-Bite, The Laurel Hotel, Wagner’s, The Brau Haus, Cricket Ridge, Sally’s, The Cedar Grove Tavern, Kenzie’s, The Pioneer, The Goldfinch and more if we have time. We will probably wrap up at El Reparo’s!

     These restaurants are only a small sampling of the many fabulous small businesses we have in southeastern Indiana. We have too many great restaurants, shops, stores and businesses to hit all of them in one day, but we hope to give you the opportunity to see as many of them as possible. In addition to getting to try the many wonderful restaurants on out tour, and see other businesses along the way, you will get to see some of the beautiful landscape and other assets along our route. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with good people, have some great food, and discover the hidden gems in southeastern Indiana all while supporting the cause! We have already made arrangements with each of the restaurants to be prepared for our crew to make a quick stop and do a taste test so lets show them our support! Feel free to join us on either the first leg of the trip, the 2nd leg, or both!  Come hungry and wear your Orange JUD shirt if you have one. If you don't have one and would like one, we will make sure to get you a shirt when you get there.  We will have soft drinks and water provided on the bus and we will be asking for a small contribution to cover the cost of the food and gas.
