District 68

    It was another exciting weekend on the campaign trail! We were in Bright on Saturday for the Bright, Indiana Community Festival, where we had a great group walk in the parade. There were about 25 of us walking together, passing out candy and meeting with people. We even made a float on the back of a classic tractor that our friend Bob Werner owned. It was a lot fun walking down the street and seeing the smiling faces, and it was amazing to see and feel the support from the parade watchers, and from the wonderful people who volunteered to walk with me. Thank you to all of them. 

Lip service is no longer acceptable! It’s time for representation that will take our values and concerns to Indianapolis and help provide solutions for the real problems that we face.  

Often, as I walk door to door to meet the people of District 68, and the temperature is over 90 and the humidity turns my shirt into an orange sponge, I get asked why I’m out working so hard on such a hot day. Some suggest that it might be easier to call, send out mail, or put an ad in the paper…

My name is Michael Cunningham. I was born and raised in southeastern Indiana and I love it here. I currently attend Purdue University but I find myself yearning for home often, so I make it back to my Mom and Dad’s to see my family and friends as much as I can. I’ve always had an interest in our government and our political system, and recently that interest has picked up dramatically.

 

Out-of-control spending and a constantly growing government is a problem for all of us, and it is the younger generations that will have to pick up the tab.  With that in mind I share this article with you. It comes from a young man who knows that the status quo is not acceptable, and that we must make changes to preserve our future…..
